Goheung, a taste town located at the southernmost tip of the country. High-quality seaweed rich in sweet taste grows in the clean waters of Goheung. First, the string with seaweed spores is put on a line and installed along with a buoy in the seaweed fishing ground. When the cold winter passes and the warm spring comes, seaweed that was submerged in water is collected at this time. It is spectacular to see seaweeds filled with the smell of the clean sea.

The seaweed collected in this way is boiled in clean seawater, cooled and salted, and then the rough seaweed stems are picked out by hand. After cleaning and dehydrating once again, place it neatly on a drying frame and dry it with a hygienic, state-of-the-art machine, and only then will the final stage of manufacturing high-quality Goheung seaweed be completed.


Seasoned seaweed with vinegar
Ingredients: 150g seaweed, ½ onion
Seasoning: 0.5 Tbsp minced garlic, 6 Tbsp vinegar, 3 Tbsp sugar, a little bit of salt, a little bit of sesame seeds

1. Cut seaweed into 10 cm intervals and soak in water for about 10 minutes.
2. Blanch the soaked seaweed in boiling water and rinse in cold water.
3. Sieve seaweed through a sieve to remove moisture.
4. Slice the prepared onion thinly.
5. Add onion, seaweed, and seasoning and mix evenly.
6. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and it's done.
